  • Richmond, Lewis
    Work as a Spiritual Practice

    Head: (3 of 5)
    Heart: (5 of 5)
    Leadership Applicability: (4 of 5)

This book offers a fresh perspective on how to become more aware, awake and engaged in your work life. Richmond challenges us to look at work in a different context. Instead of seeing work as an obligation, he asks us to view it as an opportunity to expand our mind and energy. Richmond warns us that this is not a quick fix, like a cup of coffee, but a slow, conscious shift in how we view our current world.

We are introduced to "The Energy Wheel," a map of change and a guideline for growth and transformation. The book takes the reader through each part of the wheel in much detail. The wheel is divided into four sections: 1.) Hot Negative (Conflict), 2.) Hot Positive (Inspiration), 3.) Cool Negative (Stagnation), and 4.) Cool Positive (Accomplishment). In each section of this wheel is our emotions and energy; and it is up to us to decide where we want to focus our attention. Work as a Spiritual Practice provides us choice and a new perspective that is refreshing and energizing. Buy it.
