He is currently the editor of Granta literary magazine.

Sue and John will be talking about email and other modern communication tools in the context of their four thousand year history—a context that should help listeners put their own use of such tools into broader perspective. They will discuss some ways to tame the email beast and reclaim your ability to think and work on a deeper level, not to mention giving you back your free time and family life. And they will help give boost to a growing movement to scale back our collective dependency on email—what John calls the Slow Communication Movement, “a push back against the machine and the forces that encourage us to remain connected to them.”
